House to house survey to inspect COVID-19 cases in Delhi- MOHFW

The Union health ministry while press briefing said that the Centre is taking urgent actions to control the Covid-19 outbreak in Delhi by increasing overall ICU beds in hospitals, and increasing testing to 1-1.2lakh per day.The health ministry has announced to increase manpower to inspect 4,000 containment zones in Delhi following the government norms.

“Manpower will be increased to inspect nearly 4,000 containment areas in Delhi following the government-induced Standard Operating Procedures.” said Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Union Health Ministry

Niti Aayog’s Dr. VK Paul said that the limit of ICU beds will be increased from 3500 ICU beds to 6000 ICU beds in the next few days.Tracking and keeping a close watch is very important and crucial in coming days after the festive season like Diwali, Durga pujan and elections.

The officials also said that house to house survey will be done in containment zones in Delhi.

“House to house survey will be done in containment zones in Delhi. This will also be done in other vulnerable zones. Total 7000-8000 teams will be put on this.” said Dr. VK Paul, NITI Aayog

The officials during press breifing has also emphasised on dont be hesitant to get tested becuase proper and timely testing is important.
