India recorded 6,298 new Covid-19 cases

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 6,298 new Covid-19 infections in India in the previous 24 hours.

India now has 46,748 active cases, accounting for 0.1 percent of overall infections. According to the Health Ministry, 5,916 people have recovered from the virus in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,39,47,756. The overall recovery rate is at 98.71%.

The daily optimism rate is 1.89 percent, while the weekly optimism rate is 1.70 percent.

So far, India has done 89.09 crore Covid tests, with 3,33,964 conducted in the previous 24 hours.

The Union Government is dedicated to speeding up and broadening the scope of COVID-19 immunisation across the country.

The countrywide COVID 19 immunisation campaign began on January 16, 2021. The next phase of COVID-19 vaccine universalization began on June 21, 2021.

As part of the statewide immunisation campaign, the Government of India has been supplying free COVID vaccines to states and union territories. In the next phase of the COVID-19 immunisation programme, the Union Government would acquire and deliver (at no cost) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccines manufactured in the country by vaccine makers.

In the previous 24 hours, 19,61,896 doses have been provided under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, out of a total of 216.17 crore Vaccine doses for Covid-19 infection (94.62 cr Second Dose and 19.14 cr Precaution Dose) administered thus far.

More than 202.97 crore (2,02,97,06,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and direct state procurement category, according to the ministry, and more than 3.94 crore (3,94,02,820) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
