India announces 1,581 new COVID-19 instances, bringing total number of active cases to under 25,000

In the last 24 hours, India recorded 1,581 new COVID-19 cases, somewhat more than the previous day, however the number of active cases in the country fell below 25,000.

The new figure brings the country’s total number of confirmed coronavirus illnesses to 4,30,10, 971.

The infectious sickness claimed the lives of 33 people, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 5,16,543. Kerala recorded all of the deaths as backlog cases as part of its data reconciliation process.

In the recent 24 hours, Kerala, Gujarat, and Karnataka each reported two coronavirus-related deaths, while five other states and UTs each reported one fatality. However, the majority of states and UTs did not record any COVID-19 deaths during this time period.
The number of active cases in the country has decreased to 23, 913, down 1,193 from the previous day, and active cases make up 0.06 percent of all confirmed cases. Kerala has the most active COVID-19 cases in India, with 6,260, followed by Maharashtra with 5,277 active cases.
The daily COVID-19 test positive rate in India has now reached 0.28 percent, with a rolling weekly positivity rate of 0.39 percent.

A total of 2,741 recoveries were added in the 24-hour period, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,24, 70, 515, with a recovery rate of 98.74 percent.

In the 24-hour period, a total of 5,68, 471 tests were performed to detect new illnesses, bringing the overall number of tests to 78.36 crore.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, 181.56 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered throughout the country so far.
