The Delhi High court has expressed its anguish on disregarding his order and asking employees of erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI) to vacate the council building. The Delhi High court has issued a contempt notice to the Union health Ministry and National Medical Commission (NMC).
On October 5, the health ministry asked all the 92 employees to vacate the building with immediate effect.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) in September this year, replaced the Medical council of India (MCI) as the regulator medical education and doctors in the country. A bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramaniam Prasad was displeased with the Union Health Ministry and NMC’s decision of asking 92 employees to vacate premises of council’s building immediately.
The court has had given directions to NMC that computers of the building should made functional and biometric system for attendance should be placed back.
The direction came up on the basis of plea moved by 94 MCI employees and officials.
