Covid Case Update: India reports 31,222 cases in 24 hrs

India registered 31,222 new Covid-19 cases and 290 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry data at 8 am on Tuesday. The daily recorded cases are 19.8 per cent lower than yesterday.

The top five states which registered maximum cases are Kerala with 19,688 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 3,626 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,556 cases, Mizoram with 1,468 cases and Karnataka with 973 cases. These five states accounted for 87.47 per cent of the new cases, with Kerala alone responsible for 63.06 per cent.

Maximum death cases were also reported from Kerala (135), followed by Maharashtra with 37 daily deaths.

The total caseload now stands at 3,30,58,843 while the overall death toll is at 4,41,042.

India’s recovery rate now stands at 97.48 per cent. A total of 42,942 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,22,24,937 across the country.

India’s active caseload stands at 3,92,864. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 12,010.

On the vaccination front, India administered a total of 1,13,53,571 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 69,90,62,776.

A total of 15,26,056 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Covid case update: Sharp surge recorded in number of Covid-19 cases

India today witnessed a sharp surge in daily coronavirus cases and deaths. According to the union health ministry, India reported 47,092 new Covid-19 cases, the biggest single-day rise in two months, and 509 death in 24 hours. The country had seen 41,965 new cases and 460 deaths on Wednesday.

With this, India’s total Covid-19 caseload has surged to 3,28,57,937 and 4,39,529 deaths. Currently, there are a total of 3,89,583 active cases.

On the other hand, India registered 35,181 recoveries in one day, taking the overall count to 3,20,28,825.

As per the Centre’s data, 81,09,244 people got vaccinated against Covid-19 in 24 hours. Cumulatively, 66,30,37,334 have been inoculated against Covid-19 to date.

The weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 2.62% and it has been below 3% for the last 69 days. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.80%.

Kerala, which is witnessing a massive surge in coronavirus cases, reported 32,803 fresh cases and 173 deaths in a day.

Maharashtra saw 4,456 fresh coronavirus-positive cases and 183 fatalities in the same duration. State’s capital Mumbai saw 415 new cases and four COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Delhi has not witnessed any Covid-19-related deaths for the last 20 days. And, only 36 fresh cases were reported in the national capital in 24 hours.

In a single day, India reported 41,965 new covid cases, with active cases increasing

With 41,965 people testing positive for COVID-19, India’s total number of cases has risen to 3,28,10,845, while active cases have risen to 3,78,181, according to figures updated on Wednesday by the Union health ministry.

According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,39,020, with 460 more deaths.

The number of active cases has increased to 3,78,181 and comprise 1.15 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.51 per cent, ministry said.

It said that active cases increased by 7,541 in a span of 24 hours.

On Tuesday, 16,06,785 tests were conducted, taking the total cumulative tests done so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 52,31,84,293. The daily positivity rate has been recorded 2.61 per cent, the ministry said.

The weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 2.58 per cent and it has been below three per cent for the last 68 days, it said and added that the trend of less than 50,000 daily cases is being reported for 66 consecutive days now.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 3,19,93,644, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

With 1.33 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses being administered on Tuesday, the highest ever in a single day, the cumulative doses given in the country under the vaccination drive has exceeded 65.41 crore, according to the ministry.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19 last year.

India crossed two crore cases on May 4 and three crore cases on June 23.

Covid Case Update: India reports 46,164 fresh cases, crosses 60 crore vax mark

India on Thursday logged 46,164 new coronavirus infections with 607 new deaths according to a recent report by the Health Ministry.

Besides, India’s active cases increased to 3,33,725 in 24 hours, comprising 1.03% of the total infection count.  The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.58%. It has been less than 3% for the last 30 days.

The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.02%. It has been below 3% for the last 62 days, according to the ministry.

The total tally of COVID-19 cases increased to 3,25,58,530 and the national recovery rate stands at 97.63%. With 34,159 people recovered in last 24 hours, total recoveries stand at 3,17,88,440.

Under the national vaccination drive, country has administered 60.38 crore doses so far.

Covid case Update: India logs 37,593 news cases in 24 hrs

India registered 37,593 new Covid-19 cases, 648 fatalities due to the viral infection in the last 24 hours, according to the data released by Union Health Ministry.

A total of 34,169 Covid-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the recoveries tally to 3,17,54,281 across the country. With this, India’s recovery rate stood at 97.67 per cent.

As of 8 am on Wednesday, India’s active caseload stood at 3,22,327. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 2,776, the health ministry said..

On vaccination front, India has administered a total of 61,90,930 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 59,55,04,593.

Covid case update: India registers 25,467 fresh cases

India added 25,467 new COVID-19 cases, while the active cases declined to 3,19,551, comprising 0.98 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

The total tally of COVID-19 cases has increased to 3,24,74,773.

The death toll has climbed to 4,35,110 with 354 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.

The active cases were the lowest in 156 days, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.68 per cent, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.

A reduction of 14373 cases has been recorded in the total number of active COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours.

Also, 16,47,526 tests were conducted on Monday, taking the cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 50,93,91,792.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 58.89 Cr (58,89,97,805) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 65,03,493 sessions.

At least 1.6 crore people in India are yet to get second shot of the Covid vaccine, a report by the health ministry noted. The 1.6 crore figure was arrived at by looking at how many people had got their first shots as of May 2 and comparing it with the total number of those who have so far got their second. Over a crore of them are among the elderly, and the rest are from other vulnerable groups such as health and frontline workers and those aged over 45. The government had on May 13 approved a gap of 12-16 weeks for Covishield, which accounts for over 85% of all vaccinations; for Covaxin, it’s a much shorter 4-6 weeks.

Meanwhile, the Centre is in discussion with state governments to revise norms to ensure restrictions on public events ahead of major festivities.

“The upcoming festivities are very worrying. It is important to postpone celebrations and festivities for another year. It is very crucial as Delta which caused the second wave continues to be the dominant variant,” an official said.

India registers 36,401 new cases in Covid-19, including 530 in just 24 hours

According to data released on Thursday by the Union Health Ministry, India added 36,401 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 32,322,258, while the national recovery rate rose to 97.53 percent, the highest since March 2020.

According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,33,049, with 530 new fatalities.

The active cases declined to 3,64,129, the lowest in 149 days, and comprise 1.13% of the total infections, the ministry said.

A reduction of 3,286 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

As many as 17,97,559 tests were conducted on Tuesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 49,84,27,083.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.94%. It has been less than 3% for the last 24 days.

The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.95%. It has been below 3% for the last 55 days, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,15,25,080, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34%, the data stated.

Cumulatively, 56.64 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive so far.

Covid case update: Indian logged 38,667 fresh cases in 24 hrs

India reported 38,667 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours raising the active caseload to 3,87,673 which constitutes 1.21% of the total cases. The country also reported 478 deaths, taking the cumulative death count to 4,30,732.

The daily positivity rate stands at 1.73 per cent, which has been less 3% for the last 19 days.

The weekly positivity rate also remained below 5% and is currently at 2.05%. Further, the daily positivity rate is at 1.73%.

In another significant development, more than 55.73 crore (55,73,55,480) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 1,00,37,990 doses are in the pipeline. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 53,26,03,653 doses, as per the provisional report by the health ministry.

Covid case Update: India logs a surge in daily cases with 41,195 new cases reported in 24 hrs

The coronavirus (Covid-19) infections in India rose to 32,077,706 on Thursday after 41,195 people were found to be positive of the viral disease in the last 24 hours. The number has significantly risen from yesterday’s 38,353 cases. The daily death toll also saw a rise as 490 people succumbed to the Covid-19, data released by the Union health ministry showed.

The death toll has now reached 429,669.

The number of active cases dipped to 387,987 and now consists 1.21% per cent of the total caseload. As many as 31,260,050 people have recovered from as of Thursday, the data from the health ministry also showed.

India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 520 million (523,253,450) landmark milestone.

Overall nationwide tally is has been hovering above 25,000 for days as some states in the country are reporting a surge in daily average cases.

Experts have predicted the possible third wave could hit the country as soon as August-end. The recent surge in cases has been mostly led by the highlight transmissible mutation of the Covid-19, Delta variant.

Covid case Update: 38,353 new cases registered in India with 497 deaths

India reported 38,353 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours, which is 36 per cent higher than 28,204 reported yesterday. The country also reported 497 deaths, taking the cumulative death count to 4,29,179.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2.16 per cent, which has been less than 3 per cent for last 16 days.

India’s active caseload has climbed to 3,86,351–the lowest in 140 days, the union health ministry added. The Covid-19 active cases constitute 1.21% of the total cases.

Besides, India has achieved its highest recovery rate today at 97.45%, the health ministry said. A total 40,013 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

The weekly positivity rate also remained below 5% and is currently at 2.34%. Further, the daily positivity rate is at 2.16%, less than 3% for 15 consecutive days.
