Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena has authorised the conversion of 128 temporary doctor roles at several Delhi government hospitals to permanent positions, with the goal of providing physicians with the finest service conditions, work surroundings, and professional security possible. It will also increase hospital staffing, according to the LG office on Friday.
“The LG has cleared the conversion of 128 temporary jobs into permanent ones after previously approving 918 postings in various categories at the Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka.”

This decision will result in permanent appointment on 76 posts in Dr BS Ambedkar Medical College, 40 posts in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, nine posts in Maulana Azad Medical College, and three posts in Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, which have been vacant since 2011 and 2012, respectively,” the LG office said in a statement.

Assistant professor (orthopaedics), senior residents in radiology, surgeons, dental surgeons, junior resident, staff nurse, and clinical instructor are among the allowed roles. According to an LG official, more ad hoc positions may be turned into permanent positions in the future. The LG stated that the ideal way to honour the medical profession on Doctor’s Day is to eliminate adhocism and professional insecurity.

For these newly converted positions, new hires will be made through an open selection procedure. Those in the positions will not be eligible for permanent positions unless they participate in the open selections. According to authorities, the LG has directed responsible officials to expedite the filling of vacancies and upgradation that have been waiting for years.
