According to the notification by Central government of India Dr. V M Katoch who is also President of JIPMER and now, he has been selected as a President of AIIMS Madurai.
Dr.V M Katoch was Director of ICMR at the time of outbreak of H1N1 pandemic. During the time of H1N1 pandemic many crucial decisions was taken under his tenure like expanding the network of laboratories to tackle the situation .
