COVID-19: Over 2 lakh children received vaccination shots on first day

The total active cases in India fell to 30,799 in the previous 24 hours, accounting for 0.07 percent of the country’s overall positive cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In the country, there are 4,30,01,477 COVID-19 instances. The daily positive rate has dropped to 0.35 percent, with a weekly positivity rate of 0.42 percent, according to the health ministry.
The country’s cumulative recovery stands at 4,24,54,546 after 4,491 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. With 60 more COVID-related deaths, the death toll has risen to 5,16,132.

“India has done 78.12 crore COVID-19 tests thus far, with 7,17,330 tests completed in the previous 24 hours,” the statement continued.
According to provisional statistics, the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 180.80 crore (1,80,80,24,147) under the National Vaccination Drive as of 7 a.m. today.
COVID-19 immunisation for teenagers aged 12-14 years began on Wednesday, and more than 3 lakhs (3,00,405) adolescents have received their first dose of the vaccine in the previous 24 hours.
