India reported 20,557 new COVID-19 infections and 40 fatalities in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 20,557 new COVID-19 infections in India in the previous 24 hours on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the country registered 15,528 instances of illness. With the recent increase in COVID-19 infections, India now has 1,45,654 active cases.

According to official data, the country’s current recovery rate from COVID-19 infection is 98.47 percent, with 18,517 recoveries in the previous 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,31,32,140.

The death toll has risen to 5,25,825 with 40 more deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.
