1,607 fresh COVID cases and 2 deaths recorded in delhi

The national capital recorded 1,607 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, bringing the city’s active caseload to 5,609, according to a health alert issued by the Delhi government.

According to the Delhi health department, the city saw the greatest number of new infections since February 4 of this year, when 2,272 cases were documented. The daily positive rate for new cases is 5.28 percent.

Yesterday, 1,246 COVID patients recovered from the condition. The overall number of recoveries in the city since the start of the epidemic has risen to 18,49,772.

During this time, two COVID-infected people died, bringing the total death toll in the national capital to 26,174.

More than 30,000 COVID samples were analysed in the city yesterday, according to government statistics.

On Friday, 60,287 eligible individuals were given coronavirus vaccine doses as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunisation programme in Delhi.

In all, 3,34,01,239 vaccination doses have been administered in the nation’s capital.
