The National Medical Register and State Medical Register are soon going to be synchronized electronically and will be maintained under the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act.

The centralized list will be comprising of registered medical practitioners possessing recognized medical qualifications enrolled in both the registers as well as a list of professionals possessing medical qualifications from foreign and permitted to practice in India for a limited period.
