At the Covid centre in Maharashtra, a patient hits a doctor with a saline stand

On Wednesday, a 55-year-old Covid-19 patient attacked a doctor at a government hospital in Alibag, Raigad, with a saline stand.

According to the authorities, the doctor was seriously injured and was taken to the intensive care unit.

The incident occurred about 4.30 a.m. at Alibag District General Hospital’s Covid-19 care centre, where the patient had been admitted four days prior.

The police said Dr Swapnadeep Thale, who was on duty, was sitting on a chair when the patient came from behind and started hitting him on the head with a saline stand.
